Lest we give the impression that life in the studio is all throwing pots and mixing glazes, here’s a glimpse at the one of the more glamorous aspects of running a ceramics studio: taking pictures of the work.
Once or twice a year, Frank sits down to photograph what he has been making in the studio. We use these pictures for everything, from wholesale order forms and business cards to the images we include on the website and in the Etsy shop.
While the process of taking the photographs goes pretty quickly, setting up the studio to take the pictures is labor intensive and can take some time. Frank has been preparing to take photos for the past couple of days, and today when he sat down to start shooting, I snuck down to the studio to take some pictures of my own.
